Validating organizations
In addition to standard Domain Validation (DV) SSL certificates, Sectigo offers Organization Validation (OV) SSL and S/MIME certificates, and Extended Validation (EV) SSL certificates. These certificates require additional validation to verify your organization’s identity.
The process of verification differs slightly for OV and EV requests:
-
OV — This requires a Sectigo validation specialist to review the organization details provided in SCM. If the organization details cannot be verified, the administrator who initiated validation will be contacted for additional information.
-
EV — This requires a Sectigo validation specialist to review the organization EV details provided in SCM, and additional contact and verification between the authorized representative of your organization and the validation specialist.
