Understanding discovery tasks

Discovery tasks are used to discover SSL certificates in your networks.

Certificate discovery tasks can be managed on the Discovery Discovery Tasks page.

The following table describes the settings and controls of the Discovery Tasks page.

Element	Description
Name	The name of the certificate discovery task.
Certificate Bucket	The certificate bucket used to group certificates discovered by the task.
Frequency	When and how often the discovery task will be run.
Ranges To Scan	The IP or IP ranges scanned by the discovery task.
Status	The status of the discovery scan. The possible values are: Successful — The last scan completed without issue. In Progress — The scan is running. Cancelled — The scan was manually cancelled. Failed — The scan could not be completed.
Next Scan	The date and time of the next scheduled discovery scan.

Add New	Opens the Add Discovery Task page where you can configure a new discovery task.
Manage	Opens the Manage Discovery Task page where you can update the existing discovery task.
