Configuring SMART Patch settings

Edit server access details

SMART Patch uses server access credentials enabled for SMART File Scan to perform its operations.

To modify the server access details used by SMART File Scan, follow the steps outlined in Managing server access.

Customize scanning preferences

  1. Navigate to your website’s comprehensive site view.

    For more information on your comprehensive site view, see Understanding your dashboard.
  2. On the tab bar, click Site Settings.

  3. On the left-hand menu, click Scanning Preferences.

  4. From the Scanning Preferences menu, click SMART Patch.

  5. Update the fields using the information provided in the following table.

    Field Description

    Automatically scan and fix files that should be patched?

    Enable or disable automatic scanning and patching of files.

    The available options are:

    • Scan and patch automatically — Enable automatic scanning and patching of files.

    • Scan automatically but do not patch — Enable automatic scanning but manually patch files.

    • Turn off scanning — Disable SMART Patch scan.

    If automatic patching is not enabled, the website will remain vulnerable. Perform full updates regularly to keep the site secure against new threats.
  6. Click Save Changes to apply your settings.
