Configuring Backup settings
Configure server access for File & Database Backup

Navigate to your website’s comprehensive view.
For more information on your comprehensive site view, see Understanding your dashboard. -
In the tab bar, click Setup Wizard.

Enter the server access details by following the instructions in Managing server access for File Backup and Database Backup.

Click Save and Continue.
| Any subsequent changes to your server access details can be managed through the Site Settings page under Server Access. |
Set up Database Backup

Navigate to your website’s comprehensive view.

In the tab bar, click Setup Wizard.

Click Database Settings.

Under Configure Database, click the Database Backup tab.

Fill out the fields using the information provided in the following table.
Field Description Database Backup Frequency
The desired frequency for database backups.
The available options are:

Daily — Backups are created every day.
-
Weekly — Backups are created once a week.
-
Monthly — Backups are created once a month.
-
Quarterly — Backups are created every three months.
-
Never — No automated backups will be created.
Web URL
The URL of the website being backed up.
Host
The server address where the MySQL server operates.
This is typically
localhost, but it can also be a domain name or IP address.Port Number
The port used for database connections.
Typically,
3306for MySQL.Username
The database username required to access the database.
Password
The password required for database access.
Database Name
The name of the database to be backed up.

Click Save to apply your changes.
Once the Database Backup is successfully configured, the status indicator on the Database Backup tab will turn green.

Edit File Backup settings

Navigate to your website’s comprehensive view.

In the tab bar, click Site Settings.

In the left panel, click Backup Settings.

Fill out the fields under File Backup using the information provided in the following table.
Field Description File Backup Frequency
The desired frequency for file backups.
The available options are:

Daily — Backups are created every day.
-
Weekly — Backups are created once a week.
-
Monthly — Backups are created once a month.
-
Quarterly — Backups are created every three months.
-
Never — No backups will be created.
Change backup root (optional)
The root directory of the website files.
Click Change Folder to specify a different backup directory.
Exclude files and/or folders
Select specific files and/or folders to exclude from backups (such as, caches).
Exclude files by extension
Specify file extensions to exclude from backups (for example,
.logor.tmp).Exclude files by size
Set a maximum file size to include in backups. Larger files will be excluded from backups. Select No to include all files regardless of size.
Use exclusions to avoid backing up large, unnecessary files and save storage space. -

Click Save Changes to apply your updated File Backup settings.
