Adding network discovery tasks

Add a network discovery task

  1. Navigate to Discovery  Network Discovery Tasks.

  2. Click the Add icon.

  3. Complete the Common tab details based on the information provided in the following table.

    Field Description

    Name

    The name of the discovery task.

    Agent

    The agent assigned to run the discovery task.

    Certificate Bucket

    The certificate bucket used to group certificates discovered by the task.

  4. Add ranges to scan.

    1. Click the Add icon.

    2. Select a format and specify the range(s) to scan.

      Field Description

      CIDR

      The IP address to be scanned, provided in CIDR format.

      IP or IP range

      The IP or hyphen-separated IP range to be scanned.

      Host name

      The hostname of the resource to be scanned.

    3. Specify the port, comma-separated ports, or hyphen-separated port range(s) to be scanned.

    4. Click Save.

    5. Repeat to add additional ranges as necessary.

  5. On the Schedule tab, select and configure the discovery task’s scan frequency.

  6. Click Save.

Import network discovery tasks

  1. Create or verify your .csv based on the structure provided in the following table.

    Column Description

    A

    The name for the discovery task.

    B

    The agent assigned to run the task. If using the Cloud agent, leave the cell empty.

    C

    The IP or hostname to scan.

    The IP address can be expressed as an individual IP address, a hyphen-separated IP range, or in CIDR format.

    D

    The port(s) to scan.

    The port(s) can be expressed as an individual port, a comma-separated list of ports contained inside quotations, or a hyphen-separated port range.

    E

    The schedule for the scan.

    The supported values are: Manual, Once, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, SemiAnnually, or Annually.

    Tasks are scheduled for one minute after the import is completed. With the exception of Manual, and Daily, tasks are run on Sundays.

    You can specify your time zone by adding a UTC offset to the schedule. For example, Daily/UTC+03:00.

    F

    The ID of the certificate bucket used to group certificates discovered by the task.

  2. Navigate to Discovery  Network Discovery Tasks.

  3. Click the Import icon.

  4. Click the Import Network Discovery Tasks from CSV button.

  5. Select your .csv file, and click Open.
