Configuring the connector

After installation, configuration is required to link ServiceNow with your Sectigo Certificate Manager account. Configuration involves defining connection parameters, import settings, and verifying communication between the two systems.

Create a connection

  1. Sign in as a user with the x_secti_core.admin role.

  2. Navigate to Sectigo > Configuration > Sectigo Connections and click New to create a connection record.

    You can create multiple connection records, but only one should be set as the Default Connection. Inactive connections will be ignored during imports.
  3. Enter the connection details, referring to the following table.

    Field Definition

    Name

    An identifying name for the connection.

    Endpoint

    The first part of the full path to your Certificate Manager URL (for example, for https://cert-manager.com/customer/my-company, then Base URL of your Certificate Manager portal is https://cert-manager.com).

    Customer URI

    Found after /customer/ in your Sectigo URL (for example, for https://cert-manager.com/customer/my-company, then Customer URI = my-company).

    Username

    Your SCM user ID.

    Password

    Your SCM password.

    Import Settings (tab)

    The connector uses delta imports to fetch only updated data.

    These fields are prepopulated with default values. Adjust them as required.

    Timestamps (tab)

    Clear any existing timestamps.

  4. Click Test the connection to verify connectivity.

Import data

Import settings

  1. Navigate to Sectigo > Configuration > Sectigo Connections, then select the connection you want to import data from.

  2. Below the Import Settings tab, click Trigger Import of New Data from Sectigo.

Data import jobs

  1. Navigate to Sectigo > Diagnostics > Sectigo Data Import Jobs.

  2. Click New.

  3. In the Sectigo Data Import Job New Record dialog, complete the fields, referring to the following table.

    Field Definition

    Data set

    Select from:

    • SSL Certificate

    • Device Certificate

    • Client Certificate

    • Certificate Type (certificate profiles)

    • Organizations and Departments

    Data subset

    Select a specific category within the dataset.

    For example, If the Data set is certificates, available subsets are Revocations, Expirations, Issuance, and Requests.

    Since

    The starting point for incremental imports.

    Window Start

    The beginning of the time window being processed by the import job.

    Window End

    The end of the time window being processed by the import job.

    Number

    A unique identifier for the import job record in the ServiceNow table.

    Status

    Shows the current status of the import job.

    Connection

    The SCM connection you selected in Import Settings.

    Import start

    A record of when the import process began.

    Import end

    A record of when the import process finished.

  4. Click Submit.

Configure logging

Logging allows you to monitor connector activity and diagnose issues.

To configure logging:

  1. Navigate to Sectigo Certificate Management Connector > Diagnostics > Logging Configuration.

  2. Choose one of the available logging levels:

    • Errors only -– Recommended for regular operations.

    • Debug -– Recommended during setup or troubleshooting.

      Use Debug mode sparingly as it may impact performance.
  3. Complete the fields:

    • Max Cumulative Log Entries

    • Max Cumulative Log Size

  4. Click Save.
