What is certificate issuance push?

Sectigo has the ability to push information about issued certificates to your system when the certificates are signed. Optionally, the push can also include the signed certificate and the complete certificate chain.

This push mechanism notifies you when certificates are issued or when their status changes, reducing the need to frequently poll for certificate order status.

You can configure whether to receive the signed certificate together with certificate chain, or disable certificate delivery and use status notifications. When certificate delivery is disabled, status notifications can be used to trigger a call through the appropriate API endpoint:

Status change notifications are communicated when specific actions are completed. For example, when Domain Control Validation (DCV), Organization Validation (OV), or Extended Validation (EV) is completed.

This system is intended to minimize or eliminate the need to poll the CollectSSL, CollectSMIME, CollectCCC, or other APIs for status updates. If you choose to continue polling for certificate order status, polling should occur no more frequently than once every three hours.
