Control panel plugins

You place orders through the SiteLock Web Hosting Automation Made Easy (WHMCS) plugin to enable your customers to integrate their website with SiteLock Web Security capabilities.

Features
  • Place orders through the SiteLock WHMCS plugin

Typical partner profile
  • Service providers selling SiteLock as an upsell item with hosting plans

  • Service providers rolling SiteLock into their existing offering as a value add/differentiator

Business objective

SiteLock: Offering security solutions on a per-site license that produces revenue.

Integration timeline

Once a contract has been agreed upon, the integration process begins. Initially, a weekly cadence meeting is preferable to establish what is needed by the partner and what blockers exist.

  • SiteLock via plugin: 30-60 days is typical when prioritized.

Expertise needed
  • SiteLock plugins: Platform administrators familiar with the respective integration platform (for example, WHM/cPanel, WHMCS, and so on)

Prerequisites
  • Contract in place: Prior to integration, a contract should be in place that establishes which plans will be offered, their respective buy and sell rates, and any other commitments.

  • Partner account setup: Each partner will need their own reseller account in the SiteLock system. During the creation of the partner account, the partner’s plans will be created and pricing recorded.

  • Partner plugin: If a partner will be using one of our platform plugins (for example, WHM/cPanel, WHMCS), the module files will need to be provided to the partner and the modules installed. When using a local proxy in conjunction with the partner plugins, the field within the plugin’s configuration labeled "API Base URL" will need to be set to the local proxy’s address.

Exclusions/Inclusions

The SiteLock plugins have been designed as relatively lightweight pieces of software that communicate with the SiteLock Partner API to enable a minimum viable product (MVP) approach, with basic functionality supported.

Plugin features:

  • Provisioning accounts and products

  • Upgrading/downgrading/sidegrading products

  • Deleting products and accounts

  • Single sign-on (SSO)
